How to Use Your Health Insurance

Insurance FAQs
Can I use my private health insurance at One Body LDN?
Yes. We work with major insurers including AXA Health, Bupa, Aviva, Vitality, Cigna, WPA and others.
Your insurer determines whether your individual policy covers treatment with us, including any authorisation requirements, excesses and session limits. Please check your cover before attending an insurance-funded appointment.
Will I have to pay anything?
You may have an excess, co-payment, shortfall or treatment that falls outside your authorised cover. These amounts are determined by your insurer and remain payable by you where applicable.
We recommend checking your policy and authorisation before treatment.
Do I need a GP referral?
It depends on your insurer and policy. Some insurers allow you to obtain physiotherapy authorisation directly, while others may require a referral or additional information. Check with your insurer when requesting your authorisation code.
What do I need before my insurance appointment?
You’ll need your policy or membership details and any authorisation information required by your insurer.
Please submit your details at least 24 hours before your appointment to allow us time to verify them. A valid authorisation must be in place before treatment for us to bill your insurer.
How do I claim back with cashback cover?
Cashback works slightly differently:
- You book and pay privately as normal
- After your session, we send you a receipt (not before)
The receipt includes all details needed to claim.
If your insurer needs extra information (e.g., your address), you can submit it via our client hub and request an updated invoice.
Reimbursement is determined by your cashback provider and cannot be guaranteed by One Body LDN.
Are your physios HCPC registered?
Yes. All One Body LDN physiotherapists are HCPC registered. Where your insurer or cashback provider requires clinician registration details, the relevant information can be included on your treatment documentation or receipt.
Important Insurance Information
Authorisation
Please submit your insurance information at least 24 hours before your appointment to allow time for verification. A valid authorisation must be in place before treatment for us to bill your insurer.
Excesses, limits & shortfalls
Your insurer determines your cover, excess, co-payment, authorised session limit and any other policy restrictions. Any amount not covered by your insurer remains payable by you.
Declined claims
If a claim is declined, you will be asked to provide valid, updated information. If the issue cannot be resolved, the outstanding session fee becomes payable by you.
No retrospective insurance billing
A session already completed as self-funded cannot later be refunded and retrospectively billed to an insurer. We can provide a receipt so you can seek reimbursement directly where your policy allows.
Session length & insurer tariffs
Insurance-funded appointment lengths and fees may differ from our self-pay prices and depend on the funding arrangement approved by your insurer.
Cancellations & missed appointments
Insurers may not cover late-cancelled or missed appointments. Where your insurer does not pay, you remain responsible for any applicable charge under our Terms & Conditions.
