Will physio actually help me?

That depends on getting the right assessment, treatment and plan.
At One Body LDN, your physio assesses what is driving your symptoms, uses hands-on treatment where appropriate and gives you a clear rehabilitation plan.

Not sure if you need physio?
That’s what your first assessment is for. If physiotherapy is right for you, we’ll explain the plan. If it isn’t, we’ll tell you.

Why choose One Body LDN for Bupa physiotherapy in London?

Across our London clinic group, One Body LDN has a clinical team of 55+ HCPC-registered physiotherapists.

All physiotherapy appointments are delivered by HCPC-registered physiotherapists who are members of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy (CSP). Physiotherapist is a legally protected professional title in the UK, and HCPC registrants must meet professional standards for safe and effective practice.

Our team includes clinicians with experience across NHS, private healthcare and elite sport. Every One Body LDN physiotherapist completes structured clinical onboarding and ongoing clinical audit to help maintain consistent standards of assessment, treatment planning, rehabilitation and patient care.

Our clinicians assess musculoskeletal symptoms, movement and function, screen for red flags and recommend an appropriate treatment and rehabilitation plan. Care is informed by current clinical evidence and relevant NICE guidance, with referral or coordination with GPs, GMC-registered medical consultants and other healthcare professionals where appropriate.

All One Body LDN physiotherapists are DBS checked.

One Body LDN has thousands of patient reviews across Google and Trustpilot and is rated Excellent on Trustpilot.

Based on a structured analysis of 4,859 valid client survey responses, One Body LDN recorded a Net Promoter Score of +79.

Within the same dataset, nearly 1 in 4 respondents (24.8%) said they first discovered One Body LDN through a recommendation from a friend, family member or colleague. Recurring patient-feedback themes included feeling listened to, receiving clear explanations and understanding their treatment plan.

Survey findings reflect patient-reported experiences and are not measures of clinical effectiveness. Individual experiences and outcomes vary.

Our physiotherapists combine hands-on musculoskeletal treatment with progressive exercise rehabilitation, based on your assessment and goals. Where clinically appropriate, treatment may include soft-tissue techniques and joint mobilisation alongside exercise, strength-based rehabilitation and a progressive return to activity.

Based on a structured analysis of 4,859 valid client survey responses, hands-on treatment, self-reported physical progress and structured aftercare were recurring themes in patient feedback.

This combined approach is consistent with condition-specific clinical guidance. For example, NICE advises that manual therapy for low back pain and sciatica should be considered as part of a treatment package that includes exercise, rather than as a standalone treatment.

Your rehabilitation plan is built around your symptoms, movement goals and lifestyle, with clear exercises and next steps between appointments.

Personalised exercise programmes can also be delivered digitally through Physitrack, giving you clear exercise and rehabilitation guidance between appointments.

You can see your pricing before you book. Your physiotherapist will explain what they think is causing your problem, what they recommend next and why.

Based on a structured analysis of 4,859 valid client survey responses, more than 1 in 5 respondents (21.1%) cited transparent pricing as a factor that gave them confidence when booking. Clear treatment planning was also a recurring theme in patient feedback.

If ongoing physiotherapy is not clinically appropriate or you do not need further sessions, we’ll tell you.

Bupa Physiotherapy FAQs

Yes — Bupa and Bupa Global/International cover physiotherapy as part of most outpatient health insurance policies, and One Body LDN is a recognised approved provider. If you are searching for Bupa approved physio near you in London, our clinics offer same-week appointments across multiple locations.

Physiotherapy can help with many muscle, joint and nerve problems, including back pain, sciatica, joint pain, stiffness and rehabilitation after injury or surgery. The NHS describes physiotherapy as treatment that can ease pain and improve movement, using approaches including exercise and hands-on techniques.

Treatment depends on the problem. For example, NICE guidance for low back pain and sciatica recommends exercise-based management and says manual therapy can be considered as part of a treatment package that includes exercise.

At One Body LDN, an HCPC-registered physiotherapist assesses you first. If physiotherapy is appropriate, we’ll explain what we think is driving your symptoms and combine hands-on treatment where appropriate with tailored rehabilitation and a clear plan.

If physiotherapy isn’t right for you or further medical investigation is needed, we’ll tell you and advise you on the appropriate next step.

Your first appointment starts with an assessment of your symptoms, medical history and goals, followed by relevant tests of movement, strength, mobility and function.

Your physiotherapist will explain what they think is causing or contributing to the problem and discuss the treatment options with you.

Where clinically appropriate, your session may include hands-on treatment such as soft-tissue techniques and joint mobilisation, alongside targeted exercise rehabilitation and advice.

Physiotherapy should not be needlessly painful. Some techniques or exercises can feel firm or temporarily uncomfortable, but treatment should be explained, consented to and adjusted to your comfort and response.

In many cases, there is no session fee to pay when your treatment is fully authorised by your health insurer.

However, your individual policy may include an excess, co-payment, treatment limit or other shortfall. These are determined by your insurer, not One Body LDN.

Before attending, make sure you have valid authorisation for your treatment. Any amount not covered by your insurer remains payable by you.

Once your treatment is authorised, we handle the insurer billing for you.

This depends on your specific policy. Some plans allow direct access — meaning you can self-refer to a registered physiotherapist without a GP letter. Others require a GP or consultant referral before issuing an authorisation code.

The safest step is to call your insurer before booking and confirm whether a referral is needed. If you would like guidance on what to ask, our team can help.

Before attending your first session at one of our approved physio clinics, have the following ready:

  • Your policy or membership number
  • A valid authorisation code from your insurer confirming your treatment is approved
  • The number of sessions authorised (or the value, e.g. £X of treatment)
  • The excess amount you are required to cover, if applicable
  • A GP or consultant referral letter, if required by your policy

Once you have your authorisation code, booking takes under 60 seconds online — no phone calls or deposits required.

Booking physiotherapy with private health insurance at One Body LDN is straightforward, whichever stage you are at:

If you already have your authorisation code:
Book online in under 60 seconds. After booking, you will be sent a short form to complete before your appointment. This must be submitted in advance so your insurer can approve your session. If it is not completed beforehand, your insurer may not cover that session, and the cost will be your responsibility.

If you do not yet have your authorisation code:
Book your first session, and you will immediately receive step-by-step instructions through our insurance portal — including who to call, exactly what to say, and what details to send us to get your session approved.

In both cases, we handle all billing directly with your insurer. Same-week and same-day appointments are available across our London physio clinics.

Yes — all Bupa registered physiotherapists at One Body LDN are also HCPC registered, which is a legal requirement to practise as a physiotherapist in the UK. They are also members of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy (CSP) and have completed our rigorous internal clinical onboarding process.

HCPC registration is the standard requirement all major UK health insurers use to approve physiotherapists for insured treatment. You can verify any of our clinicians on the public HCPC register.

Our Bupa physiotherapists treat everyday pain, sports injuries, complex cases and post-operative rehabilitation, including back pain and sciatica, neck and shoulder pain, knee and running injuries, gym injuries, and ongoing muscle stiffness and tightness.

All our physiotherapists are highly experienced and trained to One Body LDN’s internal clinical standards. Our team comes from NHS and elite sport backgrounds, including work with high-level athletes.

Bupa commonly pre-authorises an initial course of five physiotherapy sessions, although post-operative cases may be authorised differently. If you need more sessions, your physiotherapist may need to provide clinical information and a treatment plan for Bupa to review. Please check your Bupa authorisation details before treatment so we know how many sessions have been approved.

Bupa may cover physiotherapy and rehabilitation if it is included in your policy and has been authorised, but standalone sports massage is not usually covered by private health insurance.

At One Body LDN, your physiotherapy session may include hands-on treatment, soft tissue therapy, deep tissue techniques, manual therapy and rehab exercises where clinically appropriate. This allows you to experience many of the benefits associated with sports massage within an approved Bupa physiotherapy appointment.
