Chaperone Policy — One Body LDN

Last updated: February 2026

At One Body LDN, your dignity, comfort, and safety are priorities. This policy explains what a chaperone is and how you can request one.

What is a chaperone?

A chaperone is an impartial adult who can be present during a consultation or treatment to:

  • support and reassure you

  • help you feel comfortable during hands-on care

  • act as a safeguard for both you and your clinician

A chaperone may be a family member, friend, or carer (if you prefer)

When might a chaperone be offered?

A chaperone may be offered or recommended:

  • whenever you request one (for any reason)

  • if you or the clinician feels it would support comfort or safety

  • in line with professional best practice (e.g. HCPC/CSP standards)

Your right to request a chaperone

You can request a chaperone at any time, for any appointment. You don’t need to give a reason, and your request will be handled respectfully.

To request a chaperone, tell your clinician before or during your appointment.

Confidentiality and professionalism

All clinicians maintain professional boundaries. Any chaperone present is expected to follow the same standards of confidentiality and respect. A chaperone will only be present with your consent and will remain impartial throughout.
