From Crutches to Jogging Again:
Kat's Tibial Fracture Recovery Story

Kat, a client in London, recovered from a severe double leg fracture requiring surgery — moving from being unable to walk for three months to independent walking within weeks and jogging again within two and a half months — through a personalised, whole-body rehabilitation programme at One Body LDN.

The Problem

Kat suffered a severe accident that broke two bones in her leg, requiring surgery and leaving her unable to walk for around three months. Hiking and jogging had been major parts of her life before the injury, and once cleared to start walking again, she recognised that recovering alone wasn't realistic given how mentally and physically complex the journey would be.

Why She Chose One Body LDN

Kat's doctor recommended physiotherapy to help her return to her previous active lifestyle, and she specifically sought a clinic offering a complete recovery service rather than isolated treatment. In her words: "I came across this clinic, and the reviews were absolutely amazing... it seemed to offer a complete service in terms of physiotherapy, massage and helping you get your body back to the way it was." The convenient location, strong reviews, and a fast, easy booking process reinforced her decision, and her initial assessment was "very encouraging."

The Assessment & Diagnosis

Our co-founder Kurt Johnson assessed Kat's post-surgical leg fracture with a focus on the full recovery picture — not just the fracture site, but her balance, muscle strength, and whole-body conditioning as contributing factors to a safe, sustainable return to activity.

The Treatment Plan

The Result

Kat’s doctor had estimated six to eight weeks before independent walking, but she achieved this in a matter of weeks. Two and a half months after arriving on crutches barely able to take a few steps, she was back to her normal daily activities and beginning to jog again. In her words:

"I definitely couldn't have done this without you. I am so happy with where I am now."

Watch Kat's Story

I had a very severe accident a few months ago where I broke two bones in my leg, which required surgery. It meant I couldn’t walk for around three months.

After I was cleared to start walking again, my doctor recommended physiotherapy to help me return to my normal state and get back to the active life I had before the accident.

I was very eager to start walking again and return to normal. I love hiking and jogging, and they were a big part of my life before the injury.

I realised that I couldn’t do it on my own and needed support to guide me through the journey because it is mentally and physically very complicated.

That is why I decided to see a physiotherapist and find somebody who could support me throughout my recovery.

I came across this clinic, and the reviews were absolutely amazing. It seemed to offer a complete service in terms of physiotherapy, massage and helping you get your body back to the way it was.

It was also in a very convenient location and had excellent reviews, which helped me decide to come here.

Everybody who had attended the clinic gave amazing feedback about their sessions, the journey they went through and the impact it had on their lives.

The booking process was very easy, and I received a prompt response after sending an email to arrange an initial assessment.

The assessment was very encouraging, which reinforced my decision to continue with the clinic for the longer term.

What I have really enjoyed is the highly personalised approach to my recovery plan.

The focus has not only been on making my leg stronger and helping me recover from the injury, but also on improving my whole body.

I have really enjoyed the variety of activities we do during the sessions, including work on balance, muscle strength and muscular endurance.

That is what makes the experience feel special.

I also like that it is an end-to-end solution. You are not only focused on fixing the immediate problem, but also looking at what it means to become a healthier and physically stronger person over the long term.

I feel that you really understand how the body works. You are not only addressing the immediate issue, but supporting full-body recovery and helping me become physically stronger in the long run.

My life is incredibly different now. When I look back to two and a half months ago, I came to the clinic on crutches and was barely able to take a few steps on my own.

A few weeks later, I started walking independently, even though my doctor had said it could take six to eight weeks.

My recovery was very quick, and now, two months later, I am back to my normal daily activities.

I am even beginning to try jogging again, which was a very important part of my life before the injury.

The journey has been absolutely fantastic, and I don’t think I could have gone through it without the support, empathy and clear recovery plan the clinic gave me.

The focus was not only on rehabilitation during the sessions. I was also encouraged to complete plenty of activities at home to maintain the recovery plan throughout the journey.

I definitely couldn’t have done this without you. I am so happy with where I am now, and I am very excited to see where the recovery can take me in the future.
