Sustainability at One Body LDN
One Body LDN is working to reduce avoidable environmental impact across the areas of our healthcare operations we can directly control. Our current approach focuses on reducing unnecessary clinical waste, using digital systems, improving purchasing decisions and encouraging resource-efficient working practices.
Because many of our London clinics operate within third-party host venues, building-level energy, water and waste systems are not always controlled directly by One Body LDN. We distinguish between actions we manage ourselves and those dependent on our clinic hosts.

Our Vision
Our aim is to reduce avoidable environmental impact as One Body LDN grows, focusing on areas we can directly influence such as clinical consumables, digital systems, purchasing and day-to-day operations.

Our Mission
We aim to integrate sustainable decision-making into our daily operations — from energy use and waste management to digital healthcare and responsible sourcing — without compromising clinical standards, hygiene or patient safety.
Steps
How We Are Improving Sustainability
Reducing Energy Consumption
At facilities where One Body LDN controls the relevant infrastructure, we consider energy-efficient lighting and equipment use. At hosted clinic locations, building-wide energy systems are managed by the venue operator.
- LED Lighting: Replacing traditional lighting with energy-efficient LED systems.
- Natural Light Optimisation: Designing clinic spaces to maximise natural daylight where possible.
- Equipment Management: Ensuring treatment equipment is switched off or placed in standby when not in use.
- Efficient Heating & Cooling: Improving insulation and using energy-efficient heating systems where possible.
Waste Reduction
We work to minimise waste generated through clinical operations and day-to-day clinic management.
- Reduced Couch Roll Use: Clinical couch roll is used only where required and in quantities appropriate to the treatment, while maintaining infection-prevention and hygiene standards.
- Reusable Towels: Reusable towels are used where clinically appropriate as an alternative to disposable paper products.
- Reducing Single-Use Plastics: Phasing out unnecessary disposable items where possible.
- Recycling: We use available recycling facilities at locations where suitable waste streams are provided by One Body LDN or our host venue.
Responsible Supply Chain
When purchasing clinical and office supplies, we consider practical factors including product longevity, unnecessary packaging, disposable-material use and supplier location where relevant. Clinical suitability, hygiene and patient safety remain the priority.
- Local Sourcing: Purchasing locally when possible to reduce transportation emissions.
- Eco-Conscious Suppliers: Prioritising suppliers with environmentally responsible production practices.
- Reduced Packaging: Encouraging suppliers to minimise unnecessary packaging.
- Recycled Materials: Incorporating recycled materials where practical.
Digital Healthcare
One Body LDN uses digital practice-management, clinical-documentation and rehabilitation systems to reduce reliance on paper. Patient records and administrative workflows are managed digitally, and rehabilitation programmes can be delivered electronically. Online consultations are also available where clinically appropriate.

- Paperless Systems: Using digital case management and invoicing systems.
- Digital Exercise Programmes: Delivering rehabilitation plans electronically.
- Online Consultations: Offering virtual consultations where appropriate to reduce travel.
Sustainable Transportation
Many One Body LDN clinics are located close to major London public transport links, giving patients and clinicians alternatives to travelling by car. Flexible or hybrid working is also used for suitable non-clinical roles where operationally appropriate.
Staff Engagement
- Internal Communication: Sharing sustainability initiatives and updates across the team.
- Leadership Support: Encouraging managers and clinical leads to promote responsible practices.
- Education: Providing guidance and resources on sustainable working practices.
Environmental Responsibility Matters
Our approach to sustainability will continue to develop as One Body LDN grows. We will prioritise practical changes within the areas we can control and avoid making environmental claims that we cannot meaningfully measure or substantiate.
