Hip Flexor Pain & Achilles Tendon Issues Resolved:
Justine's
Physiotherapy Story
The Problem
Justine had a longstanding hip flexor issue that became increasingly tight and painful, to the point where she had to start swapping out exercises and could no longer complete her normal training. At the same time, training six days a week, she noticed a developing problem with her Achilles tendon that she could feel during every warm-up. After waiting a couple of weeks without improvement, she recognised she needed professional treatment for both issues.
Why She Chose One Body LDN
Justine's personal trainer recommended One Body LDN due to his close affiliation with the clinic, and the choice of convenient locations made it easy to commit to regular treatment. Having already met one of the physiotherapists, she trusted the team's professionalism before she even started: "I also knew they were friendly and professional... you can be completely open and honest about any pain or problems you are experiencing and get the help you need."
The Assessment & Diagnosis
Our co-founder and clinical lead physiotherapist, Rebecca Bossick assessed Justine's hip flexor tightness alongside her emerging Achilles tendon symptoms, recognising the connection between her high training frequency and the compounding load on both areas.
The Treatment Plan
- Hands-on physiotherapy treatment for hip flexor tightness and pain Targeted management of early-stage Achilles tendon symptoms before they progressed further
- Acupuncture as part of the treatment approach
- Massage therapy to support recovery around high-frequency training
- Face-to-face demonstration of specific exercises, following on from earlier video consultations during lockdown
- Ongoing, in-person sessions to allow real-time adjustment of her programme
The Result
Justine transitioned from struggling to complete her normal training and modifying exercises around pain, to returning to consistent, full training. As she put it:
"It has been great to have face-to-face contact again and have someone demonstrate the exercises I should be doing, as well as provide acupuncture and massage." She recommends booking early given demand: "Don't snooze, or you'll lose."

I had a problem with my hip flexor. It was very tight and becoming increasingly painful. I waited a couple of weeks, but it did not fix itself, so I knew I needed professional help.
At the same time, I had also been experiencing a problem with my Achilles tendon. I used to train six days a week, and during every warm-up I could feel it, so I knew it was becoming a bigger issue.
My hip had always caused problems, but the pain was getting worse. I was beginning to swap out exercises and could no longer complete my normal training.
My personal trainer recommended One Body LDN because he had been closely affiliated with the clinic. The locations were also very convenient, particularly because there was a choice of clinics.
Having met one of the physiotherapists before, I also knew they were friendly and professional.
I really like coming here because of the convenience, but also because the environment is warm and engaging.
You can be completely open and honest about any pain or problems you are experiencing and get the help you need.
During the earlier lockdowns, we had video consultations, which were very useful.
However, it has been great to have face-to-face contact again and have someone demonstrate the exercises I should be doing, as well as provide acupuncture and massage.
Book in now before they become fully booked. Don’t snooze, or you’ll lose.
