I recently started working with Magenta and I couldn't be happier with my progress so far. Magenta is incredibly knowledgeable, patient, and caring. She took the time to thoroughly assess my condition and tailored her treatment plan to my specific needs (lower back pain). Her positive attitude and encouragement made the sessions enjoyable, even when the exercises were challenging. Thanks to Magenta, I have seen a significant improvement in my mobility and overall well-being. I highly recommend Magenta to anyone in need of physiotherapy services.

I have been very impressed with the therapy I’ve received by Magenta. She has helped with many of my pregnancy issues including lower back, neck and hip pain. She has a wealth of knowledge and is constantly up-skilling herself to ensure she has the most up to date practises. For me, she has used a combination of massage and giving me exercises to do at home. Not only that, but she has a wonderful disposition and is always happy to chat and see how I’m getting on. She has been there throughout my second and third trimester and I couldn’t be more grateful!

Highly recommend Magenta/Danielle! Incredibly knowledgeable, helpful and all-around lovely people. They gave me very helpful advice/support for strength and flexibility training, including deep tissue massages and acupuncture during the sessions. Without them, I would not have been able to recover from my IT band injury before my ultramarathon this summer.

I was on a week's business trip to London and had severe recurrence of slip disc induced sciatic pain in my left leg. In order to prep for the long return trip back to India the next day, I went for 1 session to One body LDN. Mridul, the physio, did a great job in understanding my problem, the pain areas and providing a deep tissue massage that helped me manage my pain during the return flight. Thanks Mridul and One body LDN!

The swelling may also be accompanied by pain and tenderness. It is important to elevate the ankle and apply ice to reduce the swelling. Resting and avoiding putting weight on the injured ankle can also help in the healing process. If the swelling persists or if there is severe pain, it is recommended to seek medical attention for further evaluation and treatment.

Sprain: A sprained occurs when the ligaments on the outside of your ankle stretch past their normal range and sometimes tear. It is most likely to happen if you suddenly twist your foot too far inwards. While it can be a painful injury, the good news is that most sprains heal well with proper care and treatment. If you have been diagnosed with an prain, ice pack it is important to contact a healthcare professional for assessment and diagnosis. Ankle sprains are common injuries that can occur among people of all ages and activity levels, but with self-management techniques and rehabilitation exercises, you can recover effectively.

X-ray: If you have twisted your and it is too painful to stand on, appears deformed, or your skin is broken, it is important to seek medical attention right away. An x-ray may be necessary to determine if there are any fractures or other damage to the bones or tendons in your ankle. In some cases, surgery may be recommended if there are additional injuries such as a tendon rupture or it cartilage injury. X-rays can help doctors assess the severity of the sprain and determine the appropriate course of treatment.

A severe sprain, also known as a grade 3 sprain, is a serious injury that involves complete tearing of a ligament. The symptoms of a severe sprain include intense swelling, bruising, and pain around the ankle. it may feel unstable, and it becomes difficult to put any weight on the foot without experiencing severe pain. Without proper treatment and rehabilitation, a severe sprain can lead to long-term problems such as chronic pain, arthritis, and instability. In some cases, may be necessary to regain flexibility and strength in the ankle. While mild and moderate sprains usually do not require surgery, a follow-up appointment is recommended for those with severe sprains to ensure proper healing and determine if additional treatment is needed.

Compression is an essential step in treating a twisted ankle. Applying a compression bandage or using an elastic wrap can help reduce swelling and support the injured ankle. It is recommended to start wrapping at the point farthest from the heart and continue wrapping towards the ankle. Compression helps to restrict blood flow, which can prevent further inflammation and promote healing.

Ankle ligaments: When you twist your ankle, the ligaments in your can become torn or stretched too far, resulting in a sprained ankle. This is a common injury that can occur due to a fall or by rolling or twisting your ankle.

Crutches: If you’ve twisted your ankle, using crutches may be necessary to help reduce weight-bearing on the injured ankle. This can aid in the healing process and prevent further damage. It is important to rest and protect it by limiting physical activities that could worsen the sprain. Additionally, applying ice, compression, and elevating the injured ankle can help reduce swelling and promote healing.

Ibuprofen is a commonly used medication to alleviate pain and reduce swelling in a twisted ankle. It belongs to the nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) class and is effective in providing relief from mild to moderate sprains. Ibuprofen can be taken orally or applied topically as gels or creams to the affected area.

Range-of-motion: After twisting your ankle, it is important to focus on range-of-motion exercises to prevent stiffness and promote healing. These exercises involve controlled movements of it without resistance. Once the swelling and pain have improved, strengthening exercises can be added to your treatment plan. These exercises target the muscles and tendons in the front and back of your leg and ankle, helping to improve stability and prevent future injuries. Range of motion exercises should be performed within 48-72 hours after injury, while endurance and balance training can be incorporated once recovery is well underway. Applying topical medications or patches can also help manage pain during the healing process.

Immobilization: When you twist your ankle, immobilization is often recommended as part of the treatment plan. This involves keeping it still and not putting weight on it for a period of time. Immobilization helps to reduce swelling and promote healing. However, recent studies have shown that emphasizing function restoration through the use of splints, braces, or taping can lead to faster recovery and return to normal activities compared to prolonged immobilization with a cast. In some cases, if the sprain is severe or if there are complications, a brief period of immobilization followed by protected weight-bearing in a walking boot may be necessary.

A high ankle sprain, also known as a syndesmotic sprain, occurs when the ligaments just above the ankle are damaged. This type of sprain is different from a regular ankle sprain, which affects the ligaments around joint. you can wear an elastic support, or a brace. In some cases, doctors may recommend an MRI to evaluate other structures around the ankle, such as cartilage and tendons.

An inversion injury, also known as a lateral sprain, is the most common type of sprain. It occurs when the foot turns inward, causing damage to the ligaments on the outside of the ankle, specifically the anterior talofibular (ATFL) and calcaneofibular (CFL) ligaments.

Naproxen is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) that can help control pain and swelling caused by a twisted ankle. It is often recommended for mild sprains as it improves function by reducing swelling and controlling pain.

Difficulty walking: A twisted ankle can cause difficulty walking due to the pain and instability in the affected foot. Along with difficulty walking, symptoms of a twisted ankle may include loss of movement and strength around the ankle, tingling or numbness in the affected area, and swelling.

Elastic bandage When you twist your ankle, it’s important to provide immediate care to prevent further damage. One effective way to reduce swelling is by applying an elastic bandage or wrap to the injured area. Start wrapping at the point farthest from your heart and make sure not to wrap too tightly, as it can cut off blood flow. This compression helps keep down swelling and provides support to the ankle. Combined with other measures like applying ice and elevating the ankle, using an elastic bandage can aid in the healing process and protect against future injuries.

Recurrent sprains can be a common problem for those who have previously twisted their ankle. Without proper treatment and rehabilitation, the ankle may not heal properly, leading to instability and an increased risk of future sprains.

The severity of your ankle injury will determine the recovery time and treatment required. A minor sprain may take around two weeks to heal, while a severe sprain can take anywhere from six to 12 weeks. The treatment goals for a sprained ankle are to reduce pain and swelling, promote healing of the ligament, and restore function of the ankle. It is important to seek medical attention and follow proper treatment protocols based on the severity of your injury.

Primary care: If you have twisted and there is little or no improvement after the first week, it is advisable to consult with a healthcare professional. Your primary care provider or a sports medicine specialist can provide further treatment depending on the extent of the injury. If you are unable to put weight on your foot or if there is significant swelling, bruising, or deformity, it is recommended to seek medical treatment from a doctor, such as an orthopedic surgeon or visit an emergency department.

A twisted ankle occurs when the ligaments around the ankle joint are stretched or torn. To prevent a twisted ankle, wear appropriate footwear, warm up before physical activity, and strengthen your ankles with exercises like balance training and ankle strengthening exercises.
