I recently started working with Magenta and I couldn't be happier with my progress so far. Magenta is incredibly knowledgeable, patient, and caring. She took the time to thoroughly assess my condition and tailored her treatment plan to my specific needs (lower back pain). Her positive attitude and encouragement made the sessions enjoyable, even when the exercises were challenging. Thanks to Magenta, I have seen a significant improvement in my mobility and overall well-being. I highly recommend Magenta to anyone in need of physiotherapy services.

I have been very impressed with the therapy I’ve received by Magenta. She has helped with many of my pregnancy issues including lower back, neck and hip pain. She has a wealth of knowledge and is constantly up-skilling herself to ensure she has the most up to date practises. For me, she has used a combination of massage and giving me exercises to do at home. Not only that, but she has a wonderful disposition and is always happy to chat and see how I’m getting on. She has been there throughout my second and third trimester and I couldn’t be more grateful!

Highly recommend Magenta/Danielle! Incredibly knowledgeable, helpful and all-around lovely people. They gave me very helpful advice/support for strength and flexibility training, including deep tissue massages and acupuncture during the sessions. Without them, I would not have been able to recover from my IT band injury before my ultramarathon this summer.

I was on a week's business trip to London and had severe recurrence of slip disc induced sciatic pain in my left leg. In order to prep for the long return trip back to India the next day, I went for 1 session to One body LDN. Mridul, the physio, did a great job in understanding my problem, the pain areas and providing a deep tissue massage that helped me manage my pain during the return flight. Thanks Mridul and One body LDN!

Appendix: key terms and concepts for stiff neck

A stiff neck can occur due to overused or strained neck muscles. The neck is supported by a complex structure of muscles, ligaments, and tendons. The large neck muscles like the sternocleidomastoid and trapezius help in gross motor movements of the neck while the smaller ones support finer movements. When these muscles are stretched too far or strained, it can cause pain ranging from mild to severe that can make it difficult to move the head or use the neck muscles. Common causes of a stiff neck include poor posture, sleeping in an awkward position, prolonged sitting or standing, and stress.

Inflammation is one of the most common causes of neck stiffness. It can be caused by various factors such as poor posture, muscle strain, or even arthritis. Inflammatory conditions like cervical spondylosis, rheumatoid arthritis, and post-traumatic arthritis can also result in neck stiffness. Neck muscle spasms can also accompany inflammation around the injured tissue causing severe pain. In some cases, neck stiffness may be a symptom of meningitis, which is an inflammation of the meninges that cover the brain and spinal cord.

If you have a stiff neck, ibuprofen can be an effective way to relieve the pain. Ibuprofen is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) that can reduce inflammation and alleviate pain. It is always advisable to seek medical advice before taking any medication. In addition to ibuprofen, other remedies such as neck flexibility exercises, using heat or cold packs, and using a low, firm pillow can also help ease the stiffness and discomfort in your neck.

Stiff neck can be an uncomfortable and painful experience, and depending on the cause, numbness or tingling can also occur in the neck, shoulders, or arms. This is usually a result of nerve compression in the cervical spine. If you have symptoms such as headaches, trouble walking or balance problems, it could be due to cervical spondylosis which may also cause numbness in the arms or hands. It is important to seek medical attention if neck soreness or stiffness persists for several days, especially if accompanied by numbness, weakness, or tingling sensations.

Stiff neck can sometimes be accompanied by other symptoms such as numbness or tingling in the neck, shoulders, or arms. This may indicate a nerve issue or pinched nerve in the neck area. If you experience these symptoms along with neck pain or stiffness, it’s important to seek medical attention. Depending on the underlying cause of your stiff neck, you may also experience headaches, trouble walking or balance problems. It’s always best to consult a healthcare professional if you are experiencing any unusual symptoms or if your pain lasts for several days.

A stiff neck can be caused by a variety of factors, including bad posture, pinched nerves, and injury. One of the most common injuries that can lead to a stiff neck is whiplash, which can occur as a result of car accidents, sports injuries, or other traumas that affect the neck. Whiplash occurs when the head is suddenly forced forward and then backward, causing strain on the muscles and ligaments in the neck. If you experience symptoms of whiplash or other neck injuries, it’s important to seek medical attention to prevent further damage and promote healing.

Acetaminophen is an over-the-counter pain reliever that can help control mild to moderate pain. It is commonly used to treat stiff neck symptoms, but it doesn’t have anti-inflammatory properties. It’s important to also use cold therapy to numb the acute pain and reduce inflammation. Another option is warm moist cloth applied on the neck for 20 minutes every 3-4 hours as needed for pain relief. If symptoms persist or don’t improve, it’s advisable to consult a doctor.

Naproxen is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) that can help relieve the pain and inflammation associated with a stiff neck. It is commonly used along with other NSAIDs like ibuprofen to reduce swelling and pain. However, it is important to consult a doctor before taking any medication if you have underlying health conditions or are on other medications. Additionally, applying ice or heat, and taking over-the-counter pain relievers like acetaminophen can also be helpful in managing mild to moderate pain.

A stiff neck is a common problem that affects many people. It can be caused by various factors such as poor posture, whiplash injuries, sleeping awkwardly or stress. Fortunately, most cases of stiff neck can be treated with home remedies and prevention strategies, such as stretching, massage, and applying heat or ice to the affected area. In some cases, medical attention may be necessary if the pain persists or becomes severe. Making lifestyle adjustments can also help reduce and prevent neck pain from occurring in the first place.

A stiff neck is often caused by tension or injury in the soft tissues of the neck, including muscles, tendons, and ligaments. This can lead to pain and difficulty moving the neck, as well as radiating pain into the shoulder and upper back. The trapezius muscle is especially prone to strain and can contribute to upper back pain. Additionally, arthritis in the facet joints of the vertebrae may cause deep, sharp, or aching pain that radiates to the shoulder or upper back. Stretching exercises and proper posture can help alleviate these symptoms.

A stiff neck can be caused by a variety of factors, including poor posture, muscle strain, and injury. In some cases, an X-ray may be necessary to determine the underlying cause of the problem. It is important to have a physical evaluation by a doctor to rule out any serious injuries or infections that may require immediate medical attention. An X-ray, along with other imaging tests such as MRI or ultrasound, can also be helpful in diagnosing the root cause of the stiffness and discomfort.

A stiff neck can be caused by a number of factors, including poor posture, injury, or an underlying medical condition. If the stiff neck is accompanied by nausea, it could be a sign of meningitis. Meningitis is a serious infection that can cause fever, headache, and vomiting along with a stiff neck. If you experience these symptoms, seek medical attention immediately. In general, if a stiff neck lasts for more than a week or is accompanied by other red flag symptoms such as fever, headache, nausea or vomiting, it’s best to consult with a healthcare professional.

When experiencing a stiff neck, it’s important to avoid wearing a neck collar unless advised by a doctor. Instead, gentle stretches and massages can help alleviate the pain. Sleeping without a pillow or with one designed to support the neck can also help. Checking posture is also important for preventing further aggravation of the pain. It’s important not to do anything that could be dangerous if you cannot move your neck, such as driving or cycling.

A stiff neck can be caused by muscle strain, poor posture, or sleeping in an awkward position. To prevent it, maintain good posture, use a supportive pillow while sleeping, and take regular breaks to stretch and move your neck throughout the day.
