Joining us from Saskatchewan, Canada, Luis Cortés is a musculoskeletal physiotherapist and F45 guru.
Alongside physiotherapy, Luis has a BSc in Kinesiology, specialising in biomedical sciences. Luis also holds certifications as a sports massage therapist and a strength and conditioning specialist.
Luis has NHS experience providing top-quality care and rehab to patients across various physiotherapy specialities such as trauma orthopaedics, neuro-trauma, surgery, and respiratory medicine, as well as experience in a private musculoskeletal physiotherapy clinic focused on low back pain and general acute/chronic musculoskeletal pathologies.
Having qualified as a sports massage practitioner, Luis has worked to support athletes, gym goers and the general public in achieving maximum performance whilst reducing the risk of injury.
Using specialist techniques and stretches to increase power, endurance and flexibility before and after a workout or in preparation for an event, Luis always provides thoughtful, individually focused care, leaving clients feeling well-heard and cared for.
Having worked as a coach of F45, high-intensity functional training workouts for over three years, Luis is an expert at supporting clients in reaching their personal fitness goals. Incorporating both strength and cardio exercises, Luis is a member favourite due to his expertise, hands-on approach, and attention to detail – particularly regarding client safety and technique. Leading workout classes for groups of up to 30 people, Luis uses his knowledge of human kinetics, practical experience and infectious enthusiasm to adapt his style and encouragement to ensure each member has the best experience and is motivated to excel.
Alongside his experience with F45, Luis has also been a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist since 2021. He has designed and supervised resistance training programs for youth, middle-aged and elderly populations presenting with various comorbid musculoskeletal and neurological conditions, including those with spinal cord injuries. He has also developed and delivered training programs for provincial and national-level soccer teams, provincial wheelchair basketball players and competitive short and long-distance runners.
Luis is empathic, conscientious and consistently positive no matter the situation. Clients are drawn to him for his energy, technical expertise and high-quality care.
Originally from Colombia, Luis is also fluent in Spanish. He welcomes Spanish-speaking clients who may need help accessing support due to language barriers. And when he’s not at work, you can find him playing football, working out at the gym, and almost always listening to Shakira.
