I recently started working with Magenta and I couldn't be happier with my progress so far. Magenta is incredibly knowledgeable, patient, and caring. She took the time to thoroughly assess my condition and tailored her treatment plan to my specific needs (lower back pain). Her positive attitude and encouragement made the sessions enjoyable, even when the exercises were challenging. Thanks to Magenta, I have seen a significant improvement in my mobility and overall well-being. I highly recommend Magenta to anyone in need of physiotherapy services.

I have been very impressed with the therapy I’ve received by Magenta. She has helped with many of my pregnancy issues including lower back, neck and hip pain. She has a wealth of knowledge and is constantly up-skilling herself to ensure she has the most up to date practises. For me, she has used a combination of massage and giving me exercises to do at home. Not only that, but she has a wonderful disposition and is always happy to chat and see how I’m getting on. She has been there throughout my second and third trimester and I couldn’t be more grateful!

Highly recommend Magenta/Danielle! Incredibly knowledgeable, helpful and all-around lovely people. They gave me very helpful advice/support for strength and flexibility training, including deep tissue massages and acupuncture during the sessions. Without them, I would not have been able to recover from my IT band injury before my ultramarathon this summer.

I had a very positive experience working with Magenta on my rehabilitation following a tri-malleolar ankle fracture and surgery. It was a long and tricky recovery journey, but Magenta's professionalism, advice and positive attitude were extremely helpful in dealing with the whole thing. Thank you, Magenta and One Body LDN 🙂

I was on a week's business trip to London and had severe recurrence of slip disc induced sciatic pain in my left leg. In order to prep for the long return trip back to India the next day, I went for 1 session to One body LDN. Mridul, the physio, did a great job in understanding my problem, the pain areas and providing a deep tissue massage that helped me manage my pain during the return flight. Thanks Mridul and One body LDN!

Appendix: Key Terms and Concepts for Achilles Tendonitis

Tendon rupture: A tendon rupture may be accompanied by a popping sound and difficulty bearing weight on the affected leg. Treatment for a tendon rupture may involve surgery and a prolonged recovery period.

Jumping: Achilles tendonitis is a condition that is commonly caused by activities that involve jumping, such as dancing, gymnastics, squash, and tennis. The Achilles tendon is a crucial component for jumping, running, and walking, as it connects the muscles in the calf to the heel.

Anti-inflammatory: One of the common treatments for Achilles Tendonitis is the use of anti-inflammatory medication. Nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) such as ibuprofen or naproxen can help to relieve pain and reduce inflammation in the affected area. In addition to medication, rest, ice, and specific exercises to strengthen the calf muscles are often recommended.

Injections: Injections can be a treatment option for Achilles tendonitis. Some common types of injections include steroid injections and platelet-rich plasma (PRP) injections. Steroid injections can provide short-term pain relief, while PRP injections use your own blood that is rich in growth factors to help the tendon heal faster. These injections are typically administered by a doctor, sometimes with the guidance of ultrasound. Other treatment options for Achilles tendonitis include rest, anti-inflammatory medication, and in severe cases, surgery.

Low-impact activities: If you’re suffering from Achilles tendonitis, it’s important to engage in low-impact activities that won’t put excessive stress on your tendon. Swimming and bicycling are great options that can help reduce pain, swelling, and loss of function.

Bone spurs: Achilles tendonitis is a condition where the Achilles tendon, which connects the calf muscles to the heel bone, becomes inflamed and painful. In some cases, bone spurs may develop along with the tendonitis. These bone spurs are extra growths of bone that can further irritate the tendon and cause additional pain.

Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) such as ibuprofen can be effective in reducing pain and inflammation associated with Achilles tendonitis. These drugs can be taken over the counter and provide temporary relief. However, it is important to note that NSAIDs should not be taken for extended periods of time. Alongside medication, rest, physical therapy, and avoiding activities that worsen the condition are also recommended as part of the treatment plan for Achilles tendonitis.

Back of the lower leg: Achilles tendonitis is a condition that occurs when the large tendon at the back of the lower leg becomes irritated and inflamed. It is an overuse injury that can cause pain, swelling, and stiffness in the affected area.

Tendon fibers: Achilles tendonitis occurs when the tendon fibers in the Achilles tendon become damaged and inflamed. In severe cases, these tears in the tendon fibers can worsen and lead to a rupture, causing a complete or partial break in the Achilles tendon.

X-ray: If you suspect you have Achilles tendonitis, your doctor may order imaging tests such as an x-ray or MRI to confirm the diagnosis. These tests will help determine the extent of the injury and if there are any bone spurs present.

Band of tissue: Achilles tendinitis is a condition characterized by inflammation and pain in the band of tissue that connects the muscles in your lower leg to your heel bone. This injury can cause discomfort, stiffness, and swelling around the heel area.

Cases of achilles tendinitis: Achilles tendonitis is a common condition that usually occurs in athletes or individuals who engage in repetitive activities. Most cases of Achilles tendonitis can be effectively treated with nonsurgical methods, such as rest, ice, compression, and elevation.

Complications of Achilles tendonitis can include long-lasting pain, difficulty walking or exercising, and potential deformities in the tendon or heel bone. In some cases, surgical procedures may be necessary to address the condition, such as lengthening the calf muscles or removing damaged tissue and bone spurs.

Back of your heel: Achilles tendonitis is a condition characterized by pain and inflammation in the back of your heel. Activities such as running, jumping, and sports like gymnastics, squash, and tennis can worsen the symptoms.

The healing process for Achilles tendonitis can take time due to the nature of the injury. However, there are various treatment options available that can help stimulate the healing process. Some of these options include dry needling, low-impact exercise alternatives, orthotic shoes, cast or splint, and extracorporeal shockwave therapy.

Health care: When dealing with Achilles tendonitis, it is important to seek guidance from a qualified health care professional. They can properly diagnose the condition and provide appropriate treatment options. This may include a physical exam, discussing symptoms, and potentially ordering imaging tests such as an X-ray or MRI to assess the severity of the injury. Seeking medical advice ensures that you receive accurate information and suitable care for your specific circumstances.

Achilles tendonitis is often caused by overuse or repetitive strain on the Achilles tendon. Other factors that can contribute to its development include tight calf muscles, improper footwear, sudden increase in physical activity, and inadequate warm-up or stretching before exercise.
